Fly the flag on your site
A free widget that shows whether flags are at full or half-staff in your state today. It keeps itself current from official notices, so you paste it once and you're done.
Banner
A thin bar across the top of your pages. It changes color when flags are lowered.
Card
For a sidebar or a page about your flag. The flag lowers when an order starts, with the reason and the end date.
Badge
A small picture with a link, for forums and site builders that don't allow scripts.
Questions
- What does it cost?
- Nothing, and there's no account or key. The widget links back to Flag Beacon; please leave that link in.
- How current is it?
- It shows the same answer as this site, which reads the White House's and governors' official pages four times a day. When an order ends, the widget goes back to full staff within minutes.
- Will it slow my site down?
- No. The script is about 1 KB and loads after your page. It sets no cookies and tracks nobody.
- What if Flag Beacon can't confirm my state?
- The widget says so instead of guessing, and still shows nationwide orders.
- Can I change how it looks?
- Not yet. If a size or color would help your site, write to help@flagbeacon.com.
